The short answer

AI search readiness starts with accessible public pages and information that helps a real reader. Strong SEO, clear answers, reliable sources, and accurate business details work together.

1. Check public-page access.

Review whether important pages are accessible, indexable, and connected through normal links. Check robots directives, canonical URLs, sitemap coverage, and restrictions at the hosting or CDN layer.

Google says that AI Overviews and AI Mode use the same foundational SEO practices. A supporting page must be indexed and eligible to appear in Search with a snippet. There is no special AI markup or text file required.

2. Separate search from model training.

OpenAI documents OAI-SearchBot for ChatGPT search and GPTBot for potential model-training use. They have independent controls. ChatGPT-User supports certain user-requested page visits and is not the search-indexing crawler.

Anthropic likewise documents Claude-SearchBot for search, Claude-User for user-requested retrieval, and ClaudeBot for potential training use. A search-access review should preserve your intended training preferences.

3. Make the answer useful.

State what the page is about, answer the main question directly, and explain the detail a reader needs. Use descriptive headings, plain language, and relevant examples. Keep important information in text rather than only inside an image.

There is no reason to repeat platform names or keywords across every paragraph. A page should serve a distinct customer need and connect naturally to relevant services and resources.

4. Make evidence easy to follow.

Identify who is responsible for the content. Support important claims with appropriate references or first-hand evidence. Distinguish a measured result from an estimate, an example, or an opinion.

Keep business and contact information consistent. Use accurate structured data that matches the visible page. Do not add invented ratings, awards, client results, or credentials to create a stronger appearance.

5. Measure observations carefully.

Choose a consistent set of customer questions and document how each platform responds. Record the platform, prompt, date, and relevant context. Track identifiable referral traffic and useful customer actions when appropriate data is available.

A small prompt sample is an observation, not a complete measure of market share. Answers and citations can change. Read the pattern with its limitations before deciding what to change.

What this review cannot promise

Technical eligibility does not guarantee indexing, rankings, AI citations, or enquiries. Those decisions depend on independent systems and many external factors. The goal is a better information base and a more accountable improvement process.
